VHF Radio exams

Published on: Nov 02, 2011
On September 23rd 2011 VHF Radio exams where conducted on St. Maarten at Bureau Telecommunication and Post St. Maarten. In total 25 participants sat the VHF Radio exams in order to obtain a VHF operator’s license. The execution of the closed book exam was in the presence of two registered invigilators appointed by Bureau telecommunication and Post St. Maarten.
Their job was to organize the exam papers, ensure the exam was conducted in accordance with the guidelines and to mark the exams.
Bureau Telecommunication and Post St. Maarten proudly announces that out of 18 participants, 14 persons passed the VHF Radio exam; to whom the Official VHF operator's certificate and license will be issued.

Bureau Telecommunication and Post St. Maarten is very happy with the turn out and the positive results. The VHF radio is an essential tool for safety onboard vessels as it greatly enhances rescue capabilities of personnel aboard a vessel in an emergency.

Goal of the VHF Exams is to make sure that everyone that's operating a marine radio on a vessel understands this technology and know how to properly operate VHF equipment. In some circumstances, this can mean the difference between life and death.
